Q. Are Great Lakes Spa parts still available?
A. The short answer is,Yes! Check out our eShop! Some of the original parts have be replaced with universal parts. They will work the same but they may look a little different.
A. Great Lakes Home & Resort / Great Lakes Spas® / GPM Ind. was sold to Emerald Spa manufacturing, in 2007. The Great Lakes Spa® is still produced today. We at Great Lakes Spa Center, have been a reseller of the GLS from the early 1980's, and have carried a full line of repacement parts from the beginning. We have since the sale of the manufacturing plant, gone straight to the suppliers of the components to purchase replacement parts at a reasonable price. Q. Can I purchase parts as a reseller even if I don't sell the Great Lakes brand spa?
A. Yes! We sell to both the wholesale and retail sectors. Make sure to let us know that you are a hot tub store or a service center, and we will get you the correct pricing. Pricing that is listed in our eShop is retail.
Q. How does the All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner (Spa Magic) work?
A. All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner bonds to the contaminants that enter the water (by using naturally occurring magnetically charged technology). The contaminants are attracted to All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner and are captured in the filter. This action occurs whether the contaminant is acidic or alkaline. The PH Level will fluctuate somewhat between 8.0 and 8.4, depending on the amount of daily contamination, by will always stabilize within normal range without using any chemicals
Q. How long can I store the All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner bottle?
A. All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner has a shelf life of 5 years.
Q. Why is there cloudy water?
A. Cloudy water may be caused by frequent use by a large number of bathers, or lotions, oils, deodorants, sunscreens, or other products used on the skin or soap residues in bathing suits.
Q. How do I clear up cloudy water?
A. 1. Make sure spa users and bathing suits are as clean as possible.
2. Make sure the filter has been rinsed with hot water.
3. Make sure the filtration system runs at least 8 hours a day
4. Two to four ounces of water clarifier can be used to speed up recovery time.
5. Be patient. The spa water will clear up and does not have to be drained, if the water is cloudy, All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner just needs some time to do its job.
Q. Can I use fragrances with All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner?
A. We do not recommend using just any fragrances with these products because they may not be compatible. As of now only Being® brand is compatible.
Q. How much does one 16 ounce bottle cover of All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner?
A. Used alone, one 16 ounce bottle will treat up to 500 gallons of spa water and work for up to three months
Q. Is All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner compatible with conventional sanitizers?
A. Yes, All Natural Water Treatment and Conditionerr is compatible with conventional sanitizers (i.e. chlorine, bromine, and ozonators).
Q. Will All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner clog my pumps or drains?
A. Due to the positive charge carried by All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner, mineral particles will not attach to plumbing, pumps, heaters, etc.: they will remain in suspension until the filter removes them.
Q. How long does All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner last until the next treatment?
A. Typically All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner will work for up to three months.
Q. What happens if I don't use the All Natural Penetrating Spa Cleanser before using All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner?
A. Several weeks into using All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner it will continuously seek out chemical residues to eliminate them. If All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner finds those residues, the water may turn a bit cloudy and give off a chemical odor. Starting with the All Natural Penetrating Spa Cleanserr product will eliminate this problem.
Q. Why do I experience an organic smell?
A. At times you may experience an organic smell. This simply means that All Natural Water Treatment and Conditioner has found contaminants and is working hard to remove them.
Q. What is Leisure Time Free?
A. Leisure Time Free is an easy to use non-chlorine, non-bromine spa water sanitizer.
Q. Can I use other sanitizers with Leisure Time Free?
A. No. Only the hydrogen peroxide based sanitizers can be used.
Q. Can I use other shock treatments with Leisure Time Free?
A. No. Only the hydrogen peroxide based oxidizers can be used.
Q. Why did I get rash spots shortly after using the spa?
A. Hot tub rash or the technical name, pseudomonas is bacteria in the water that has not been sanitized or filtered. Check the levels of your sanitizer, ph, alkalinity adjust accordingly. Drain the water and refill with fresh water is water balance can not be maintained.
Q. My water smells stagnant. What do I do?
A. This is typically one of two different issues. Check your sanitizer level or ph and alkalinity levels. If the sanitzier is low the water can be cloudy, foamy, smelly. If the ph and alkalinity are out of balance you could have some foam, or just an organic smell.
Q. Is there an easy way to know when to clean a cartridge filter?
A. Yes! Cartridge filters work on the "clarification process." They remove the oil and debris from the water. If the sanitizers are in balance and you have cloudy water it's probably time. On average once a month, more often if the tub is used heavily.
